Abstract
The article highlights theoretical principles of tolerance in communication. Tolerance is realized in the desire of the individual to achieve mutual understanding. The components of communication tolerance can be considered as the level of technology (communicative competence) and the level of strategy (personality traits). Tolerance in teaching is the basis of the teacher's communicative competence. It has been proved that the most productive, from the point of view of tolerance, is the dialogic style of communication with students. The opposite style to the dialogical is considered authoritarian-monologue. Tolerant communication plays an important role in forming the professionalism of a teacher.
