The article substantiates the dominant influence of the educational process on the formation of the foundations of the health culture of students. The main reasons for the formation of a culture of health of students should be considered as a primary pedagogical problem. The preconditions and conditions for forming the foundations of the culture of youth health, are namely: social, pedagogical, medical, ecological, economic, geographic, and individual. The stage-by-stage of the pedagogical process of forming the health culture of students in the process of a long-term study in the higher educational establishment was observed. the priority of pedagogical influence on the formation of the basis of the culture of health of students in the process of individual development and the formation of the person during the study at a higher educational institution is proved. The sequence and structure of solving the pedagogical problem of forming the foundations of the health culture of student youth are determined.
