The history of the development of education in Transcarpathia was studied by the following researchers in their scientific works: Ch. Fedynets, O. Fizeshi, V. Homonnay, A. Ignat, M. Klyap, P.-R. Mahochiy, V. Rosul, P. Strichyk, M. Talapkanych, etc. The available researches on the history of the development of education and schooling in Transcarpathia mostly deal with the historical aspects of the development of the educational system of different historical periods or with pedagogical issues of general secondary education. The conducted analysis of scientific works leads one to the conclusion that modern pedagogical science has not yet comprehensively revealed the establishment and development of professional pedagogical education in Transcarpathia. In the period under research, Transcarpathia was part of Hungary that became part of the Austrian-Hungarian monarchy in 1867 after the conclusion of a treaty to regulate state and legal relations between Austria and Hungary. This period in Transcarpathia is characterized by the establishment and development of institutions training teachers for primary schools. The region had three institutions of professional pedagogical education, namely two teacher-training seminaries in Uzhhorod (for boys and girls) that belonged to Mukachevo Greek-Catholic eparchy and a state teacher-training seminary that was opened in Mukachevo in 1914. The perspectives of scientific researchers include the study of the content and the didactic system of professional training of teachers in the specified period.
