Democartic education in terms of euro integration

Abstract

The article reveals the specific features of the democratic education of modern Ukraine and its influence not only on the reproduction of democratic values in society, but also on the formation of a new system of social values in conditions of transformation education. The role of a teacher for the formation of an individual and citizen of his state with clearly defined moral priorities is characterized. In addition to gaining knowledge about modern democracy, its principles, ideals, values and practices, the peculiarities of teaching democracy to students of pedagogical universities include the formation of social and political, civic competencies as well as mature social attitudes and tolerance for future teachers. Formation of civic competence creates favourable conditions for the comprehensive development and self-development of the individual, developing civil, ethical and aesthetic values of the subjects of instruction and education; dissemination of new cultural values, stimulates group interests, strengthens mutual relations; promotes the assimilation of social experience and acquisition of the qualities necessary for a person to live.
