The problem of personal safety as part of social maturity is one of the urgent issues being investigated recently. Social maturity is the ability to adapt to human life in society. Social maturity comes when a person is formed as a personality. The article deals with personal security as a component of social maturity of the person. The notion of "personal security" is stidied. A personal security model, which provides the protection of human life and health, housing and property, creation of conditions for self-development, the provision of reliable information is investigated in the present article. It was determined that the typical signs of social maturity of a person is material independence, the legal responsibility for their actions, establishing and maintaining harmonious relations with others, the establishment and maintenance of the family, position of citizenship. It was found that by identifying themselves with the Ukrainian nation, socially mature personalities take their norms, values and patterns of behavior, become the typical features of the Ukrainian mentality. Abstract interpretation of the personal safety of foreign and domestic psychologists. The basic character traits of socially mature personality are charcterised: responsibility, tolerance, self-development. It is shown that after the threat level analysis of social mature person is intented to flexibility, stability and resistance.
