Formation of public consciousness in a political crisis

Abstract

The article deals with the formation of a new type of political consciousness and its influence on the formation of political culture, political behavior and activities, national consciousness in modern Ukrainian society. Political consciousness is a complex, many structural, controversial phenomenon, conditioned by historical, socio-economic, socio-cultural factors. Political consciousness and political culture bring us closer to understanding the atmosphere of political life, specific and unique in every country of political culture. Without it, it is impossible to understand why a certain number of individuals choose one or the same political orientation, a model of political behavior, why political institutions of the same type act differently and are perceived differently in different countries, which is a reflection of a certain national mentality. Without raising the level of political activity of citizens it is impossible neither to withdraw the economy from the crisis, nor to lay the foundations of the rule of law and civil society, there can be no question of the emergence in its environment of a new type of political culture oriented towards the development of a democratic society. Political consciousness and political culture have a significant influence on the political life of society, determining the direction of political activity of different communities, parties, social and political movements and individuals.
