Philosophy of O.V. Dukhnovych in the context of modern educational tendencies

Abstract

The article has presented a retrospective analysis of the creative heritage of O. Dukhnovych. It has been found out that a great educator in his works developed a whole set of ideas relevant for that time. The teacher in a new way formulated the main tasks of education, in a new way, assessed his role and importance in the development of personality. O. Dukhnovich for the first time in Transcarpathia has advanced the idea of educating a new person, a citizen, a patriot and a humanist who is capable to transform his own and public life, ready to sacrifice in the name of the interests of a simple people, in the name of a better future. Three "subjects of upbringing" in a man thinker considered mind, heart and hard work. The closer goal of educating the teacher was to develop the natural abilities of the child in accordance with the development of nature and in the direction of continuous improvement of the individual. In his opinion, the success of education depends on respect and fulfillment by the family, parents, teachers of the following three conditions: "good to give birth, to save young people, to teach gratitude". The philosopher pointed out that a man can not be virtuous unless he is brought up with ideas that urge her to act for the common good. The pedagogical heritage of O. Dukhnovych is especially relevant today, in the context of reforming the new Ukrainian school, and is a real treasure for the Ukrainian nation.
